
The mausoleum is attached to the east end of the chapel. Both buildings are designed in the Early English style, but the mausoleum is more lavishly decorated than the chapel. It is octagonal on plan, with a pyramidal roof and blank arcading to the walls. The interior contains shelves for coffins.

The church of St Agatha was built as a private chapel by the Emerson family following the death of Anne Emerson in 1880. Although it belongs to the Church of England, as time goes on the church is being used less and less for worship. The current owners of Easby Hall take care of the building.
Fair, the roof is beginning to need attention (2002).
