James Malcolmson (1802-1861) of Muchrach, Invernesshire was a Senior Partner of Forbes and Company, the East India Merchants. His son, who is also interred in the mausoleum, was given the Victoria Cross in 1857 at the battle of Khoosh-ab in Persia. “The gallant young lieutenant…fought his way to his dismounted comrade through a crowd of enemies…and giving him his stirrup, safely carried him through everything out of the throng.’
Fair. The stone is beginning to spall, and the stone slab over the vault is falling in. (2002).
