An Egyptianate mausoleum with a pyramidal roof. As originally designed, the whole of the entrance front would have been visible despite the fact that the rear was built into the hillside behind. Now, however, even the front elevation is partially submerged.

The mausoleum was built by Henry Beaumont Leeson, M.D. (1803-1872) following the death of his son, Henry Sutton Leeson, at the age of 28 in 1864. Dr Leeson was the Patron of the Living at Bonchurch. He and his wife, Elizabeth (d.1867) are the only other people buried in the mausoleum. Inscription to doorway inscribed with the following initials and dates 'G.L 1867' and 'H.S.L 1872'.
