Carson Mausoleum

Limestone mausoleum built c.1845.  Square in plan with a high base plinth to the west, flat recessed panels and a concave pyramidal roof.  Square-headed opening to the east elevation with a cast-iron single-leaf door.  Inscription plaque to the west elevation.

History

The inscription reads ' Sacred to the memory of Joseph Carson who died 23rd August 1849 aged 80 years. Also James Reid who died 15th April 1891 aged 83 years. Also James Reid who died 29th April 1912 aged 59 years. Also Victoria Wilhelmina Reid who died 21st March 1925. Also Jane Bell Reid who died 27th Jan. 1936. Also Ellen Emerson who died 3rd Nov. 1937'.

Plantlife recorded to areas of open-joints (2003).
