The Mausoleum of Augustus Percival Calland (1815-1901) his (second) wife Ellen Sarah Calland (nee Kirkaldie, 1853-1906) and "Darling Little Gladys" (1885-1888) a daughter who died in childhood. Some of the lead lettering has fallen out of Gladys' plaque. Calland was apparently a wealthy man and landowner, but suffered ill (mental) health following the death of his first wife. He remarried a much younger woman, nine years later. Augustus' address at the time of his death on 30 June 1901 was both Upper Forest, Glamorgan and Hail Road, St John's Wood in London (see Western Mail).
2002: Fair/Poor
2019: Looking intact but neglected. Corrugated entrance coverings detract and obscure. Rather stained, some erosion of stonework surface, lettering dropping out of Gladys' plaque. Looking damp at footings, judging from photos.
Western Mail, Tuesday 19 November 1901, 'Local Wills'.
